Teki Zanso
"Teki Zanso" was built in 1918 as the villa of Aio Narukiyo, who was the owner of "Mouehachiman Shrine" in Yamagamachi, Kitsuki City, Oita Prefecture.
The villa with a site area of about 3670 tsubo and a floor area of about 247 tsubo is the best of Japanese-style architecture built on a small hill overlooking Beppu Bay.
The tile-roofed one-story villa was named "Matsanso" after the name "Mt.
Ohara House
Kitsuki clan senior samurai mansion.
It is located on Kitadai Samurai Residence Street, which was lined with senior samurai residences during the Edo period, and still retains its remnants.
Passing through the magnificent double-doored nagayamon, you can see the dignity of the 200-year-old large cycad and the dignity of the large entrance, including the imposing thatched roof full of emotion. Ohara's residence, with its large and elegant strolling garden, is a samurai residence that represents Kitsuki.
Kitsuki Castle Town
The townscape of Kitsuki is a "sandwich-type castle town" where the brave samurai residences on the north and south hills centering on Kitsuki Castle sandwich the merchant town in the valley. It is a castle town where the streets of Edo remain as they are, and the cobblestone roads and slopes continue, and it has been certified as a "historic townscape that suits kimono".
