Kokonoe "Dream" Large Suspension Bridge
A large panorama at an altitude of 777m.
The "Kokonoe Yume Otsurihashi" in Kokonoe Town is a suspension bridge with a height of 173m and a total length of 390m, which is "the tallest in Japan" for sidewalks.
The view from the top of the bridge is spectacular, and you can see "Shindou Falls", one of the 100 best waterfalls in Japan, and "Kyusuikei", a famous place for fresh greenery and autumn leaves. Especially in autumn, it is a new attraction for autumn leaves, and it is crowded with many tourists in early November when it is in full bloom.
Tadewara Wetland
Located in Aso-Kuju National Park, it was registered with Bogatsuru in 2005 as the prefecture's first Ramsar Convention.
Located at an altitude of 1000m above sea level on the Iida Plateau, it has one of the largest areas of an intermediate marsh in Japan, and is home to valuable marsh plants such as sphagnum moss and sphagnum moss.
There is a walking path on the wooden path, and you can see seasonal plants.
Makinoto Pass
It is a pass located at the highest point (elevation 1,333 meters) on the Yamanami Highway (prefectural road No. 11) that connects Beppu and Aso.
It is the starting point for climbing Mt. Kuzumi and is crowded with climbers. There is an observatory on the opposite side of the trailhead, and you can see the Kuju mountain range approaching and Aso Godake in the distance. In addition, you can enjoy a spectacular view of Miyama Kirishima in spring, colored leaves in autumn, and rime in winter.
Kusumi Kogen
Kuju Kogen is located in a corner of Aso-Kuju National Park, with a vast green panorama in front of you. Many precious plants inhabit the grasslands by "grazing" and "burning" for hundreds of years.
Oike
Oike at the foot of Mt. Kurodake is the headwaters of the Asono River, and is a group of springs where the water filtered by Mt. Kurodake over a long period of time springs out.
It has been certified by the Ministry of the Environment as one of the 100 Selected 100 Exquisite and Well-known Waters and 15 Selected Exquisite and Well-known Waters. It is crowded with people who gather to get the water.
